Public Art Statement

Public art offers Andrew F. Scott an opportunity to extend the conceptual frameworks of his studio practice into collaborative, community-centered contexts. Unlike the controlled environment of the studio, public art requires dialogue with diverse stakeholders, integrating site, audience, and cultural narratives into the creative process. Scott approaches these projects as part of a team, working to develop installations that activate public spaces while honoring the community’s histories, identities, and aspirations. Through this process, his sculptural forms and immersive media become catalysts for shared experience, fostering reflection, engagement, and a lasting sense of place.
